Troop Elections Process

  1. Six weeks before the Court of Honor, upcoming elections are announced at the Troop Meeting, including election date and date when candidates for SPL, ASPL, PL APL and QM positions must submit their names to the Scoutmaster or a designated ASM.

  2. Five weeks before the Court of Honor, leadership positions will be reviewed at the Troop Meeting, including duties, responsibilities and attendance expectations for Troop Meetings and outings.

  3. Four weeks before the Court of Honor is the deadline for SPL, ASPL, PL and APL candidate names to be submitted to the Scoutmaster or designated ASM.

  4. Three weeks before the Court of Honor, elections are held for SPL, ASPL, PL and APL. This is also the deadline for the names of QM candidates to be submitted to the Scoutmaster or designated ASM.

  5. Two weeks before the Court of Honor, elections for all remaining leadership positions take place

  6. One week before the Court of Honor, final preparations for the Court of Honor take place.

  7. At the Court of Honor, newly elected scout leaders officially take office.

Notes:

  • Troop Guides are appointed by the Scoutmaster in February and serve for a year.

  • OA Rep is elected in February and serves for a year.

Troop Position Abbreviations:

  • SPL - Senior Patrol Leader

  • ASPL - Assistant Senior Patrol Leader

  • PL - Patrol Leader

  • APL - Assistant Patrol Leader

  • QM - Quarter Master
