There are two Big Volunteer Options this weekend.
Festival Food Booth
Trash duty
(Scroll down for more info on each, but the The Trash Duty operates out of the back of the food booth. So that location is pertinent to both.)
Class B or casual! It probably will be Hot out!
Bring a water bottle, however, you might want a carabiner or bag/backpack to carry it, if you are doing trash.
You will need to park at a nearby location and shuttle in.
Here is a site map for where to park and shuttle. Please allow time to park and shuttle to be on time for your shift!
Ameristar (parking lot, not garage) has parking / shuttle and also Life storage.

Our tent is by "the depot" which is one of the only buildings between the road and the river. It's an old train depot. There is a caboose train car by this depot. (it's not red though)
**We are pretty close to Shuttle Stop 6, but adjacent stops may be fine.
Here is an exact link to guide you in.

Trash Sign-up
We are responsible for rolling trash canisters to the dumpsters and emptying the contents into dumpsters along main street and the fairgrounds. We need some older/stronger boys to please sign up here.
Water and gloves will be provided.
Please meet at the tent by Troop 30's food stand.
Additional Detail :
There are two sections. Frontier Park and Main Street.
Each section has 2 groups of 2. For instance, two people work one side of a street, and the other two people work the other side.
A pair of two does not have to work even with another pair of two across the street, but company is nice to have.
There are different time shifts.
You are taking the trash cans, and dumping them in the dumpsters. Sometimes, that is ground level, but most times it is 5' tall.
You have to pull them along for a while, and then dump them. Sometimes they are not far from the dumpsters at all.
So, what is "stronger?" It's hard to exactly define what is needed.
Being tall, is a help. The trash can has to be lifted up into the dumpster. Someone really strong, but really short, is going to work harder to get it higher.
If you have a strong and/or tall parent, paired with a smaller scout, the parent could pretty much do all the work. The scout pulls the trash to the dumpster, and you lift. But what if it isn't your scout that you are paired with and is smaller, do you want to do all the work for them all day, and you both get paid the same?
We can't say "older" scouts, because there certainly are older scouts that are smaller than younger scouts.
What does NOT work well, is a shorter less physical adult, and a very young scout. It can, and has worked, but not well, and that adult will not have a fun day!
It's hard to make "rules" on this. "Older" isn't always "stronger." "Adults are not always stronger than kids" We are just asking you to try and help us work this out, get all these shifts covered and lets make some money to go to some fun places. Teach your kid the value of hard work, to earn the fun of a good BSA activity.
Scouts that are more "able" for trash, please do the right thing.
So, try and find some friends you know, that will make a good team, and let's work this out, be smart! And If you are having trouble, reach out to me, and let me know what you have, and can do, and I will try and find you a partner!

UTILITY has replaced the Supervisor spot
If you noticed, the shifts overlap to provide extra coverage during peak times, we should have 3 of everything when it gets busy. The payment is done based on sales proceeds. We calculate our profit and divide by all the hours that you worked. If it's sunny expect a very good wage, we were very busy last year! Arrive early to allow for parking and shuttle time!
