Troop Outings Planning Schedule
PLC Planning Reminders:
If you are in PLC ( having role like patrol leader, SPL, ASPL, troop guide, outdoor ethics guide, etc. ) we meet every 3rd week of the month at 6:00 on a Thursday, so after the meeting you just head upstairs to the troop meeting at 7:00
Adult and Scout Coordinators should attend the three PLC meetings prior to the outing.
3 PLC Meetings prior: introduce outing to PLC; give them an overview of the outing and discuss ideas for outing activities and troop meeting activities (activities that will help the scouts prepare for the outing).
2 PLC Meetings prior: review ideas from prior meeting; finalize outing agenda and assign planning tasks; decide on troop meeting activities and make assignments.
1 PLC Meeting prior: finalize plans for outing and troop meetings.
Troop Meeting Planning Reminders:
4 weeks prior: hand out permission slips, overview of outing, including basic agenda; review plans for the next three troop meetings.
3 weeks prior: turn in permission slips; review outing plans; do activities planned at PLC meetings.

Week of outing: final review of plans (have all patrols purchased their food?, does each patrol still have their menus and duty rosters?, review weather forecast – does everyone know what to pack? who's taking the troop trailer?, are there enough adult drivers? who's bringing the materials for the outing activities?)
Week after outing: review outing with troop – make list of what went well and what didn't (what should be done differently on the next outing)
Adult Coordinator Reminders:
After the event, forward the final attendance list (including which adults drove) to the COR.
